Title: 4D/4N Nature Trip to Belum Forest (Upper Perak) Date: 8 (start at 9pm) to 12 Oct 2008 Leader: Sutari Supari Cost: S$490 per pax (inclusive of meals, transport, accommodation in tents & guides) Registration Deadline: 1 Oct 2008 Pristine Belum Forest is home to many lowland bird species as well as the feeding grounds of the rare Plain-pouched Hornbill (Aceros subruficollis). Its lush jungle supports vast treasures of flora and fauna and has an invigorating climate and restful cool ambience. If you are lucky, the huge Rafflesia flower may be in bloom. We will be staying at Sg Hallong Camp, which is the former site of Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) “Belum Heritage & Scientific Expedition” camp. Access to this area is via the East-West Highway at Grik (Upper Perak) and then by boat on Temengor Lake. Belum Forest was once the abode of the Communist but is now open to the public. If you are hankering for an off-the-beaten trail adventure, don’t give this exciting trip a miss! For details or to register, contact Sutari Supari at Tel: 62835069 (H) 97700432 (HP) or sutari@gmail.com.
