In an earlier issue of Nature Watch, Lesley Cartwright Taylor shared with readers the fruits of Nature Society (Singapore)’s local Horseshoe Crab Rescue & Research Project. In this article, lawyer Vinayagan Dharmarajah, a NSS Council member, suggests how both existing laws, such as the Environmental Pollution Act, the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea Act, the Fisheries (Fishing Gear) Rules and the Parks and Trees Act, and other policy initiatives might be developed to protect the Mangrove Horseshoe Crab.
