Two or One Flash Unit ???

Postby kctsang » Tue Nov 24, 2009 10:55 am

A lot had been written about macro photographers using two flash units, one on the left, and one on the right,
saying that it would give the subject a more even lighting on the subject. The disadvantage in this is more things to carry, and getting entangled with branches and creepers etc...

Would a Lumiquest Softbox be a better alternative ??

:D :D :D

With 2 flashes on each side, this help to eradicate the shadows and provide an even lighting due to wider angle coverage. A Lumiquest Softbox attachment, spread out the light from the flash and help to reduce the harsh effects of a direct flash. Personally I prefer to use a reflector to deflect the light from the single camera mounted flash as this also soften the light and spread it more evenly.
