Rather confused. Some have different white smudges on the hindwing, and some don't have any smudges? Polymorphic?

How about topsides? Blue on females, brown on males?

Thanks,
Lena

Lena,
The one with a white band is still the same subspecies but different form, form 'nivas'. See BMP (Butterfly of Malay Peninsula) Plate 24 No 7.

Female has slight iridescent blue on the upperside.

Must be a hatch from a batch :
3rd Feb - female with iridescent blue flying across pathway while jogging just outside my estate.
4th Feb - 2 males. one in my garden, one down the estate road.
5th Feb - 2 males, form nivas white patch hindwing as in above first picture you posted, joined by normal brown male flying in circles...again while jogging across the pathway.
Time : 8- 9 am
Place : Bt Batok Rd around around the CDANS firestation wooded area
