Common Six Ring ???

See picture, it has got six rings instead of five,
any explanation to this ???

Very nicely shot ! :salam: I will post your photo inline here so that it is easier to explain why this is not Common Six Ring

This is the Common Five Ring, not Six-Ring ;-) Refer to FGBS Plate 6 fig D or BMP Plate 17 fig 27.

why is it call five rings when clearly there are six rings on the hind wing ? :pdr:

The reason is the first ring (on space 6 of the hindwing) is sometmes missing so it is discounted from the count. Gotcha ! :lol:
