Volunteer Call Out: We Need Clean-up Facilitators!
Do you have a desire to make a positive impact on our environment? We are seeking dedicated volunteers to join our team of co-facilitators of our Forest Clean-up at Pulau Ubin! This facilitator role is essential for creating a smooth and impactful experience, empowering participants to make a positive difference in Singapore’s natural environment.

About the Workshop
Our Forest Clean-up Training Workshop will prepare you to be a facilitator to co-lead the Pulau Ubin activity. This workshop will prepare you to lead participants as well as gain skills in conservation facilitation. You will also be taught how to introduce participants to essential topics like climate change, the impact of litter, deforestation and habitat fragmentation, responsible nature etiquette, the importance of mangroves, and humanity’s deep reliance on nature. Most importantly, you’ll help empower participants to leave with practical ways they can make a difference in their own lives.

Role of the Facilitator
As a Forest Clean-up Facilitator, you’ll play a key role in guiding participants through a meaningful conservation experience at Pulau Ubin. Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading and Engaging: Leading the group on designated route, share insights on conservation topics, and encourage active participation.
• Educating: Introduce participants to important environmental issues, such as climate change, litter impact, and the importance of mangrove ecosystems.
• Inspiring Action: Empower participants with practical steps they can take to make a difference in their everyday lives.
• Ensuring Safety: Monitor the group’s safety, follow established protocols, and be prepared to address any issues.
• Promoting Responsible Etiquette: Model and encourage respect for nature by teaching responsible behavior and minimizing human impact on the environment.
• Being an NSS Ambassador: Promoting our membership and encouraging volunteerism with the society.
As a facilitator, you’ll play a direct role in fostering a deeper understanding of and commitment to nature conservation.
