Night Walk at Mandai Forest

February 22 @ 7:20 pm - 9:30 pm

Members Only

Come nightfall, Mandai Forest springs to life with nocturnal wonders. From stately Sambar Deer to diminutive Lesser Mousedeer, Colugos, Common Fruit Bats and Common Palm Civets – these mammals are actively foraging, with their presence revealed by eyeshine. Join professional nature guide Gloria Seow and Timothy Pwee to search for bioluminescent mushrooms, frogs, snakes, night birds, forest fireflies, centipedes, pill millipedes, spiders and more. Under UV light, Long-tailed Scorpions fluoresce a bright blue, alongside the ethereal reds, yellows and purples emitted by plants, lichens, fungi and insects. This 3-km walk is jointly brought to you by the Vertebrate Study Group and Education Committee.

Time: 7.20 pm to 9.30 pm.
