Plant Group

About Plant Group

The Plant Group is a Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Nature Society Singapore (NSS) that focuses on activities centred around plant appreciation. We usually do activities in pairs: a weeknight slideshow with a weekend walk, both focused on the same plant-related subject. This dual format allows participants to view plants photographed in their entirety from fruit and flower to ecological interactions. Subsequently, the weekend walk allows participants to examine and study these plants firsthand in their natural habitat.

In addition to our walks and talks, we occasionally conduct appreciation classes to deepen participants’ understanding and connection with plants. Some of our members have also authored the Science Centre Fabulous Figs guide to shar botanical knowledge and insights with a wider audience.
